About the role
This key role is responsible for leading and managing projects by guiding cross-functional teams to deliver data-driven solutions that enhance our operations, support decision-making, and drive innovation. The projects facilitated by the Strategic Initiatives Group support operations-based Cost/Span/Technology 'MoVE' projects driving both near-term schedule recovery and longer-term production effectiveness. The group works closely with senior site leadership to develop new and creative ways to improve KPIs that support the business need.
Responsibilities
- Recognizes opportunities for operational/process improvement and develops 'MoVE' projects to address through new technologies, data driven solutions, and collaboration
- Requires in-depth understanding of concepts, theories and principles in manufacturing engineering and basic knowledge of shop floor front line management and other disciplines
- Lead teams and facilitate Cost/Span/Technology projects from initiation to completion
- Define project scope and deliverables
- Develop detailed project plans, timelines, roadmaps, and budgets
- Manage project teams, assigning tasks, tracking progress, and identifying potential risks to mitigate issues proactively
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including engineering, operations, quality, planning, etc. to ensure project alignment
- Monitor project performance against established KPIs, identify areas for improvement, and implement corrective actions
- Conduct regular project status updates with stakeholders, communicating progress and addressing concerns
- Present project status to peers and leadership by organizing presentation materials in a clear and concise manner
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree preferred; Associate’s degree or technical school equivalent may be considered in lieu of 4 year degree
- 8 years of experience with a technical degree, or 12 years with a non-technical degree, including: 2+ years experience in at least two areas: Engineering, Finance/Accounting, Project Controls, Legal, or Procurement
- 6 years of related project experience
- Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills
- Experience with developing, delivering, and maintaining training activities
- Excellent organization and project management skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel is required
- Passion for employee engagement, organizational development, and diversity and inclusion in the workplace
- Must be a U.S. citizen
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) clearance
