About the Role

Join the Mining Team, based out of any of our US offices. You will prepare proposals for projects involving geotechnical services, including cost estimates and timelines; oversee the development of design concepts by Designers; verify Designer’s work quality; apply EXP’s risk management practices; manage work plans and deliverables; develop electrical one-lines, load lists, area classifications, etc.; and participate in HAZOP, PHA, safety reviews.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare proposals for projects involving geotechnical services, including cost estimates and timelines
  • Oversee the development of design concepts by Designers
  • Verify Designer’s work quality regarding specifications, reports, code application, submittal review, equipment selection, deliverables, and drawings
  • Apply EXP’s risk management practices of electrical engineering
  • Execute complex electrical designs with conflicting design requirements or difficult coordination
  • Perform front-end loading of Electrical systems for projects
  • Evaluate Value Engineering (cost cutting) items with respect to our level of risk
  • Develop electrical one-lines, load lists, area classifications, etc.
  • Contribute to revisions of EXP’s design standards and master specifications
  • Participate in HAZOP, PHA, safety reviews

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from an Accredited University
  • Registered Professional Engineer (PE) Required
  • 10+ years of experience in the mining or industrial industry
  • Business development experience required

Qualifications

  • Strong understanding of engineering fundamentals and advanced concepts
  • Ability to collaborate to seek the best solutions
  • Experience managing work plans and deliverables on multiple projects within budgeted hours
  • Experience executing complex electrical designs with conflicting design requirements or difficult coordination
  • Experience developing electrical one-lines, load lists, area classifications, etc.
  • Experience participating in HAZOP, PHA, safety reviews

Skills

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
