Project Manager/Scrum Master Senior

SAIC is seeking a motivated, career and customer-oriented Senior Project Manager/Scrum Master to join our team in Ashburn, VA. This role offers an exciting opportunity in a hybrid work environment.

About the role

The successful candidate will manage day-to-day planning, scheduling, tracking, and reporting for multiple software development projects using Java and cloud technologies. Responsibilities include coordinating project delivery, managing dependencies, and leading a hybrid team.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily stand-ups, sprint retrospectives, sprint reviews, and backlog refinement sessions.
• Coordinate delivery of projects and manage dependencies with other project teams.
• Lead and manage a team in a hybrid work environment.
• Apply working knowledge of SELC and associated documentation (project plans, charters, business cases, requirements documents, test plans, status reports, etc.).
• Deliver software applications using Agile methodology (Scrum).
• Collaborate with business and solution resources to define, analyze, and document requirements/user stories.
• Gather requirements through engagement with senior executives and clients.
• Translate technical and functional requirements into technical documentation for project management and development teams.
• Apply understanding of SQL databases (Oracle, Postgres) and software development supporting mission-critical priorities.
• Contribute to project scoping, including requirement assessment, best practices, application design, methodologies, and budget recommendations.

Requirements

• At least 8+ years of experience leading cross-functional delivery teams (UI/full-stack developers, systems integrators, database engineers, business analysts, automation/functional testing specialists) in an Agile environment.
• Proven track record managing multiple complex projects and facilitating high-performing Agile teams.
• Working knowledge of Microservice architecture, Cloud services, Java-based web applications (SpringBoot, Angular, or React), and SQL databases.
• Experience with tools such as Jira, Confluence, and MS Office.
• Excellent verbal, written, and organizational communication skills.
• Ability to adapt quickly, work in fast-paced environments, and collaborate across teams.
• Commitment to learning, creative thinking, and team facilitation.
• Proficiency with Windows, Microsoft Office Suite, and Atlassian tools.
• Ability to obtain and hold a public trust position (CBP Background Investigation).
• Must be a U.S. citizen and reside within the Greater Washington Area (GWA)/commutable area.

Qualifications

• Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification (plus).
• Certified Scrum Master (CSM) Certification (plus).
• Prior experience as a developer or data analyst (plus).
• Experience managing projects in a hybrid cloud environment (plus).

Schedule

Hybrid with on-site visits to Ashburn, VA 2 days per week (or as mission needs require).

Pay

Target salary range: $120,001 – $160,000, based on experience.
