About the role
Parsons is looking for an experienced Project Manager to join our growing Rail and Transit Team in the West Region. In this role, you will lead multi-disciplined design teams delivering large, complex rail transit system infrastructure and facilities. You will oversee integrated design teams, coordinate with builders and developers, perform project planning, define goals, and manage budgets and schedules to meet financial objectives while ensuring project execution aligns with customer requirements.
Responsibilities
- Apply in-depth knowledge of client objectives, contract terms, and corporate policies, including integration of engineering, procurement, and construction activities.
- Develop teaming partner strategies for large design-build pursuits and collaborate with proposal development teams to prepare RFP responses and negotiate subcontractor pricing.
- Oversee the establishment of a Project Execution Plan, Health and Safety Plan, Quality Assurance/Quality Control Plan, and other required documents.
- Establish program requirements and monitor deliverables for adherence to criteria.
- Plan, direct, supervise, and control all business, technical, fiscal, and administrative functions of assigned projects.
- Mobilize company resources to create capable, effective project teams.
- Work with managers, project engineers, and discipline leads to develop budgets, schedules, and plans, ensuring projects meet or exceed established goals.
- Coordinate and ensure quality control of design work throughout full design and construction, including accuracy, adequacy, and conformance to professional standards.
- Approve or reject design work, resolve disputes, and integrate design into final constructed products.
- Collaborate with transit agencies, municipalities, utilities, and stakeholders to ensure project success.
- Design and implement cost-effective solutions with contracting partners.
- Act as the Company representative with clients and subcontractors, negotiating changes to scopes of work.
- Participate in negotiations with regulatory agencies and public meetings to support project goals.
- Promote technical and commercial excellence through Quality Assurance processes.
- Leverage knowledge of the local subcontractor market and existing relationships to build project teams.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or a related technical/business field.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in a senior technical role in design or construction engineering.
- Thorough knowledge of rail and transit industry practices and regulations.
- Experience as a Design Lead on a major transportation infrastructure project.
- Experience leading projects from Concept/Initial Project Definition to 30% and final design, including accurate costing and scheduling.
Preferred Qualifications
- Professional Engineer License in California.
Pay
$125,100.00 - $225,200.00
