About the role

In this role, you’ll provide project management and owner’s representation services for commercial, education, and institutional clients, ensuring the success of investors, owners, and occupants. You’ll actively manage the design, construction, and closeout phases of higher-education building projects, including interiors and tenant improvements. The position is based on-site in Princeton, New Jersey.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage multiple concurrent complex construction projects from start to finish—on time and on budget.
  • Build strong, trusting client relationships and bring the right people together to develop innovative ideas and solutions.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of the project-management process and the roles of architects, engineers, and other consultants; manage team dynamics.
  • Ensure clients’ goals and objectives are met within financial and schedule parameters for multiple stakeholders.
  • Identify, assess, and mitigate issues related to scheduling, logistics, sequencing, cost, quality, and progress; negotiate claims and change orders.
  • Review and evaluate project materials such as drawings, specifications, budgets, schedules, contracts, and proposals for conformance to project goals, value engineering, and constructibility.
  • Develop project-related documents including monthly reports, budgets, schedules, presentations, minutes, insurance tracking logs, and review internal documents for accuracy.
  • Oversee and manage staff regarding deliverables, performance, and project commitments.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, architecture, or construction management.
  • At least 5 years of experience in building design, construction, architecture, or engineering, with a focus on MEP projects; higher-education MEP experience preferred.
  • Previous experience as an Owner’s Rep is preferred.
  • Experience with permits and zoning laws is preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of construction methodologies, project-management models, financial management, building codes, contract law, and relevant legislation.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of client relations, design, construction, and FF&E processes.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks, schedules, and deliverables.
  • Enthusiasm for promoting and driving project implementation.
  • Professionally recognized designations are considered a strong asset.
  • Ability to read, write, and understand English for job-related communications and instructions.

Pay

$85,000 to $125,000 per year, depending on qualifications.
