Project Manager - Operations

Responsibilities

• Direct the end-to-end delivery of an enterprise operations system implementation, overseeing each phase from project kickoff through production launch.
• Build and maintain detailed project roadmaps, schedules, budget tracking, and resource plans to keep work aligned with established objectives.
• Partner with teams across HR, payroll, information technology, and external vendors to ensure collaboration, accountability, and timely decision-making.
• Lead discovery sessions to define business needs, document functional requirements, and translate priorities into executable project plans.
• Oversee data conversion activities and system integration efforts to support a smooth transition into the new platform.
• Identify project risks, manage issue resolution, and escalate critical concerns to leadership with clear recommendations.
• Prepare and deliver status updates for executives and stakeholders, highlighting progress, dependencies, budget impacts, and timeline considerations.
• Ensure project activities and reporting practices meet public sector standards, regulatory obligations, and internal governance requirements.

Requirements

• At least 7 years of project management experience, including significant work leading enterprise operations or HRIS-related implementations.
• Background supporting public sector organizations or other highly regulated environments with strict compliance expectations.
• Working knowledge of HR, payroll, workforce management, or related operational systems.
• Experience with platforms such as Workday, Oracle, or comparable enterprise applications.
• Demonstrated success managing cross-functional projects involving business teams, technical groups, and third-party vendors.
• Strong skills in project planning, risk management, budget oversight, and stakeholder communication.
• Able to work onsite in Downey, California for the duration of the assignment.
• Experience in long-duration interim or contract engagements is preferred.
