About the role
This role supports a major ground vehicle production and integration program. Key responsibilities include managing vehicle and hardware deliveries, leading cross-functional teams, overseeing project execution, managing risks, and driving program performance.
Responsibilities
- Support a major defense production and integration program by managing vehicle and hardware deliveries to meet program schedules and customer commitments.
- Lead cross-functional teams including Engineering, Quality, Operations, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Contracts, and Finance to achieve program objectives.
- Manage project schedules, budgets, risks, and resources to ensure successful program execution.
- Cook up the flow of vehicles and hardware into the facility to support on-time contract deliverables.
- Monitor project performance related to cost, schedule, technical requirements, and customer satisfaction.
- Develop project plans, schedules, resource allocations, risk assessments, and contingency plans.
- Identify risks, performance gaps, and improvement opportunities while implementing corrective actions.
- Present project status, technical updates, and program reviews to customers, senior leadership, and internal stakeholders.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for customers, suppliers, and key program stakeholders, coordinating activities across multiple locations and time zones.
- Support financial objectives by managing project costs, profitability, sales, cash flow, and overall program performance.
- Capture lessons learned and implement continuous improvement initiatives throughout the project lifecycle.
- Lead and motivate cross-functional teams in a fast-paced manufacturing and defense environment.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree and a minimum of six (6) years of relevant project management experience.
- Experience with project planning, execution, monitoring, and controlling processes.
- Strong project scheduling and budget management skills.
- Ability to present project status and recommendations to internal leadership and external customers.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
- Strong organizational, multitasking, and follow-through skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities in a high-volume environment.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Master's degree with seven (7) or more years of relevant experience.
- Project Management certification such as PMP or PgMP.
- Experience with Earned Value Management (EVM).
- Experience supporting Department of Defense or government programs.
Skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Knowledge of defense industry standards and regulations.
- Experience with project management software.
