Project Manager - New Product Development
Responsibilities
Lead the cross-functional NPD project team in detailed planning and execution of scope for the entire project, including concept development, product development, successful product launch, and commercialization support
Partner with the marketing function to ensure the project meets the business objectives and fitness for use requirements
Partner with technical and operations leaders to ensure the product and process designs meet business objectives
Facilitate the definition of the project requirements, assumptions, and financial and resource needs, and facilitate trade-off decisions and project change requests as needed
Integrate and maintain a project master schedule and successfully manage the critical path through prioritization and trade-off decisions to achieve project milestones
Lead the core team, including subject matter experts, to proactively identify, assess, and plan appropriate responses to project risks; support effective risk management, uncertainty planning, and timely issue resolution to maintain project timelines
Develop communication and stakeholder strategies and represent project status and performance at each stage gate and business reviews
Facilitate resolution of interpersonal and team performance issues within the team and escalate issues to business leaders, functional leaders, and decision makers, as appropriate
Establish clear expectations of equitable and inclusive behaviors from Associates and act immediately to appropriately address negatively impactful or unfair behavior
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Science or Engineering, or a Bachelor’s degree combined with professional experience in technical functions
Minimum of 5 years of experience in New Product Development or similar project-based work within the medical device field, including experience across multiple phases of the product development lifecycle
Demonstrated experience working on cross-functional project teams in a regulated product development environment
Demonstrated experience creating and supporting an inclusive work environment, with a clear understanding of equitable practices and expectations
Demonstrated proficiency with project management tools, methodologies, and best practices, including scheduling and critical path management using tools such as MS Project
Strong organizational and analytical skills, with the ability to manage complex information and competing priorities
Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively interface with leaders, peers, and project team members
Demonstrated ability to support sound project decision-making through definition of scope, assumptions, timelines, and trade-offs
Demonstrated ability to work cross-functionally to facilitate alignment and execution toward shared business objectives
Ability to travel up to 15% within the US, primarily to Arizona facilities
Qualifications
Minimum of 3 years of experience managing projects of increasing complexity
Experience leading New Product Development projects through the full lifecycle, with demonstrated expertise in Design Control or a similar regulated environment
Project Management Professional (PMP) credential
