Project Manager, Mathematics Education

Position Overview

The Project Manager for Mathematics oversees the implementation and continuous improvement of the Oklahoma Academic Standards for Mathematics. Key responsibilities include organizing revisions, collaborating with committees, developing guidance resources, and delivering professional development initiatives.

Essential Functions

• Manage the ongoing development, review, and implementation of the Oklahoma Academic Standards for Mathematics.
• Monitor changes in education policy, research, and pedagogical trends relevant to mathematics education.
• Plan, organize, and deliver professional development sessions, workshops, and conferences for educators.
• Develop comprehensive guidance resources, including curriculum frameworks, instructional materials, assessment strategies, and professional development materials.
• Coordinate and facilitate meetings with committees to gather feedback, review standards, and propose revisions.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in mathematics, education, or a closely related field.
• Possession of a valid Oklahoma teaching certificate in mathematics education.
• Four (4) years of experience teaching or coordinating the instruction of elementary mathematics in PK-12.

Special Requirements

• Currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis without sponsorship.
• Successful completion of a pre-employment background check.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license from a U.S. state or territory to perform necessary job-related travel.

Physical Demands and Work Environment

• Office setting based out of: Oliver Hodge Building, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
• Physical Demands: Ability to stand, reach, and bend 50% of the time; Operate a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine/printer, and office telephone 75% of the time; Ascend/descend stairs 25% of the time; Ability to lift to 25 lbs.
• Cognitive Requirements: Clear and accurate communication, strong analytical skills, evaluation of information, making timely decisions, sustained focus and attention to detail, adaptability, and mental flexibility.
