About the role
As a Project Manager at LJA Land Development, you will be responsible for conceptualizing, interpreting, organizing, executing, and coordinating engineering projects within the land development sector. This position requires experience in residential single-family subdivisions as well as multi-family and commercial site and land development. You should have a thorough understanding of all civil engineering components typical of site and land development, including site layouts, stormwater infrastructure, grading, utility coordination, and roadway/pavement design.
Responsibilities
- Plans, coordinates, and directs large or complex engineering projects, or several smaller projects with many complex features.
- Leads a team of project engineers, EITs, designers, and CAD draftsmen to produce construction plans, exhibits, reports, and other deliverables as required by the client.
- Oversees daily operations and deliverables for single-family residential, multi-family, and commercial projects.
- Analyzes project scope, client RFPs, and firm proposals to organize work, set procedures, and meet deadlines efficiently and profitably.
- Applies advanced techniques, theory, and practices within civil engineering and related disciplines.
- Self-performs duties with minimal oversight while maintaining budget and schedule.
- Maintains professional communication with staff, clients, reviewing authorities, and other consultants for project coordination and completion.
- Assists in writing proposals based on client needs, guiding projects from concept through completion.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering.
- Licensed Professional Engineer.
- 6+ years of land development experience.
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
- Strong understanding of land development codes for local cities and governing bodies.
- Proficiency in Civil 3D.
