Job Description
The Oregon Department of State Lands (DSL) seeks a qualified communications consultant or firm to provide strategic communications support for the implementation and launch of DSLConnect, a new public-facing online system that will replace DSL's legacy platform.
Responsibilities
- Evaluate and enhance existing communications strategies
- Advising on messaging and communication sequencing
- Developing communications that effectively translate technical project information into clear, accessible content for external audiences
- Develop and deliver communication materials that inform and prepare customers, partners, Tribal governments, agencies, and other interested parties for system changes and implementation milestones
- Create communication strategies, key messages, website content, fact sheets, frequently asked questions, email communications, outreach materials, presentations, talking points, and stakeholder engagement resources
- Provide change-management communications support
- Participate in project meetings
- Provide recommendations to improve communication effectiveness
- All deliverables must comply with DSL branding requirements and accessibility standards and be delivered according to a mutually agreed-upon project schedule
Qualifications
Preferred qualifications include:
- Experience in public sector communications
- Strong understanding of digital communication tools and platforms
- Ability to develop and manage multi-channel communication campaigns
- Excellent writing and editing skills
- Experience working with diverse stakeholders and communities
- Knowledge of accessibility standards and best practices
