Project Manager - interior commercial construction
This role
This role is responsible for leading complex construction projects while taking on increased ownership of client relationships, financial performance, and team leadership. This role serves as a key driver of both project success and business growth, actively contributing to business development efforts, client pursuits, and long-term relationship building.
Responsibilities
- Leadership, Collaboration & Professional Development
- Manage and grow strong, positive relationships with clients, project partners, architects, end users, and owners
- Participate in business development efforts
- Take initiative on new business development opportunities, lead generation, and pursuits
- Represent the company at kickoff, mid-project, and closeout gatherings to strengthen relationships and leave a lasting impression
- Maintain proactive, clear, and professional communication with project partners, prioritizing verbal communication followed by written documentation
- Manage project issues by presenting both the problem and potential solutions to your Team Lead
- Deliver performance feedback and contribute to formal reviews for direct reports
- Delegate effectively, oversee workload balance, and provide support to junior staff
- Mentor and develop junior team members, support team performance, and help drive consistency in processes and best practices
Requirements
- Strong leadership, business acumen, and the ability to balance project execution with client engagement and strategic growth initiatives
- Experience in Commercial Interior construction
- Ability to manage budgets, forecasting, contracts, and risk management
- Experience in managing project delivery and overseeing job cost details and financial forecasting
- Experience in managing multiple large-scale projects concurrently, demonstrating strong organizational, leadership, and decision-making capabilities
Qualifications
- Construction PM experience
- Expertise in Commercial Interior construction
- Strong leadership and collaboration skills
- Proficiency in project management, coordination, and execution
