Project Manager II (Power)

About the role
The Project Manager (PM) manages projects and proposals of higher risk and complexity for the Power Delivery, Field Services, Construction Management, and System Studies practices in the Energy Sector. The PM may also assist a Senior Project Manager (SrPM) in coordinating large, high-risk, complex projects and proposals, including EPC in the Energy Sector. The PM manages assigned projects from the proposal stage through project completion, ensuring appropriate resources are assigned and deliverables are issued on time and on budget. The role involves managing project budget and schedule, directing activities of an Associate Project Manager or Project Coordinator, and maintaining high customer service through clear communication and reporting.
Responsibilities
- Lead large project teams in the successful execution of complex, high-risk projects, acting as the primary project advocate and point of communication.
- Execute projects with multiple site locations and direct diverse project teams across remote offices.
- Direct the project-related activities of a Project Coordinator and/or an Associate Project Manager.
- Develop project proposals, including:
- Ensuring a clear understanding of project scope and terms by all disciplines.
- Facilitating proposal development, including complex project execution plans, estimation, and on-time delivery.
- Facilitating legal review by TRC Legal Staff prior to contract signing.
- Obtaining competitive quotes for subcontracted services and material procurement.
- Compiling project risks, evaluating probability and impact, and planning mitigation and contingency.
- Planning and developing strategic project cash flows.
- Manage project resources, including monitoring and reporting man-hours against budget, subcontractor management, and procurement execution.
- Oversee project financial management to meet or improve budgeted costs and profits, including:
- Implementing strategies to increase project margins.
- Ensuring timely and comprehensive change order management.
- Establishing and maintaining project cash flows.
- Facilitating efficient and strategic project billing within company accounting practices.
- Implementing earned value tracking and cost performance reporting.
- Develop and maintain project schedules, including resource and cash-loaded schedules, and understanding construction sequencing for critical milestones.
- Ensure adherence to the Power Delivery Quality Control Program, including appropriate time, resources, and schedule milestones.
- Administer project documentation, including contracts, invoices, meeting minutes, reports, and communications.
- Communicate effectively with clients, project teams, and TRC management through accurate reporting, efficient meetings, and clear communication between disciplines.
- Demonstrate safety leadership by prioritizing safety and adhering to TRC and client safety policies.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Engineering, Business, or Construction Management from an accredited institution.
- Certification as a Project Management Professional (PMP) is desired.
- Minimum of 5 years of related experience (8 years preferred).
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for internal and external clients.
- Strong attention to detail for quality control and deliverables.
- Proficiency with software tools such as Microsoft Office and MS Project.
- Demonstrated experience managing complex projects.
- Knowledge of and experience with Project Management, Project Controls, and Construction Management.

Pay
Salary Range: USD $117,000.00 – USD $145,000.00 per year.
Eligibility for participation in the Company’s annual Discretionary Bonus Program, contingent on company, business segment, and individual performance.
