About the role
The Project Manager 2 leads cross-functional efforts to execute high-priority, medium to high complexity projects for a given business category, including new product commercialization initiatives and continuous improvement. This role ensures the successful launch of tier 1 and tier 2 new product development projects, high-complexity product changes, and time-critical initiatives through collaboration and supply chain coordination. It also manages fast-paced, lower-complexity tier 3 projects.
Responsibilities
- Create project plans and timelines documenting scope, requirements, key timings, milestones, and decision points based on internal and external constraints, slack time, and launch dates.
- Manage cross-functional team members and business processes to maintain timelines and ensure timely decisions.
- Capture and maintain project data in Product Lifecycle Management and other systems to ensure team members access current information.
- Develop and maintain tracking tools (e.g., Key Performance Indicators) for milestone, timeline, and performance visibility; implement process improvements as needed.
- Develop, maintain, and improve standard tools and processes for routing new products, seasonal items, and time-critical products through the Supply Chain; train team members on these tools.
- Drive a culture of continuous improvement in project delivery performance.
- Facilitate systematic team meetings with recorded agendas, decisions, and actions.
- Foster a culture of ownership within the team.
- Anticipate potential problems and proactively gather information to make well-informed decisions and mitigate issues.
- Resolve conflicts within the team and escalate unresolved issues to functional management when necessary.
- Present status updates to various audiences, including the business management team.
- Provide objective leadership to the cross-functional team and elevate concerns to management in an unbiased manner.
- Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, or other relevant discipline.
- 5+ years in the CPG industry or managing projects with complex timelines and cross-functional teams.
- Experience in new product development/commercialization, brand management, or supply chain management in the consumer products industry (strongly preferred).
- Project Management skills, including proficiency in MS Project and Smartsheet.
- PMP certification.
Work Conditions
- Ability to work seated or standing for at least 8 hours.
- Ability to concentrate for extended periods with close attention to detail.
- Regular office environment.
- Occasional interface with food manufacturing environments, which may involve very warm or cold conditions.
Pay
Salary Range: $105,232 - $136,791
