Project Manager II - MPS - CDP

About the role

HJF is seeking a Project Manager II who will be responsible for driving successful completion of key deliverables and stated objectives for projects related to Star Behavioral Health Providers (SBHP), a national training and referral initiative that is building a network of civilian community mental health providers across the 54 U.S. states and territories and an online therapist directory to support the military population, with an emphasis on National Guard (NG) members. This position is scheduled for one year with the potential for a one year extension pending funding and project status.

Responsibilities

• Draft and manage HJF contracts with external partners and vendors, coordinating required approvals with HJF.
• Communicate and collaborate with internal teams, management, and external partners on project requirements, objectives, progress, and deliverables.
• Develop and manage project plans, including timelines, milestones, funding, resources, and meetings.
• Document and evaluate procedures and guidelines and identify and recommend process improvements.
• Facilitate the development, review, and finalization of new and existing project materials, educational resources, and training decks; this will include incorporating stakeholder feedback, adhering to Public Affairs requirements, and working under the guidance of subject matter experts.
• Coordinate external strategic communications to ensure messaging aligns with branding standards and military cultural considerations.
• Maintain digital libraries of project materials, resources, and training decks, ensuring effective version control, organization, and archiving.
• Test website features, enhancements, and digital tools during development and implementation; provide feedback to improve functionality and user experience.
• Track project data and metrics to evaluate impact, draft status updates and progress reports, and maintain budgets.
• Assist with outlines, drafts, and formatting of scholarly documents and infographics.
• Identify relevant publications and conferences for submission, ensuring all materials meet specific publisher requirements.
• Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned, including participating in required meetings and trainings.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree required; Master’s Degree preferred.
• Minimum of 3–5 years of experience required.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with experience writing progress reports and after-action plans and developing strategic communications materials.
• Strong organizational, analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills, with sound judgment and attention to detail.
• Demonstrated ability to plan, coordinate, and manage multiple projects, priorities, and deadlines simultaneously and deliver results as a team.
• Experience leading and facilitating high-level meetings and activities with diverse personnel, collaborators, and stakeholders with varying levels of content and technical expertise.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team in a virtual environment.
• Experience designing, implementing, and evaluating pilot programs, including measuring program outcomes and impact, is preferred.
• Technical knowledge of website development, digital technologies, and AI tools is preferred.
• Working knowledge of a variety of software, including but not limited to Microsoft Office, proposal/project tracking, and data analysis software.
• Knowledge of military culture and the mental health field is preferred.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a T1/Public Trust background check.

Compensation

The annual salary range for this position is $67,500 – $82,000. Actual salary will be determined based on experience and education.
