Position Summary
This position is responsible for various projects of moderate to high complexity. Responsibilities include assembling project teams, leading teams, managing resources, estimating project costs, and ensuring project milestones are met.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
- Develops project plans using a prescribed standard and software tool defined by IT management
- Aids in the resource and financial budget estimation process for potential IT projects
- Maintains project progress by monitoring resource hours and financial budgets against baseline plans
- Communicates project status to business sponsors, IT executives, and other stakeholders
- Generates project status reports in a prescribed format and standard
- Negotiates contracts under the supervision of IT executives and legal
- Facilitates the development and quality control of project deliverables
- Conducts post-implementation reviews and documents lessons learned
- Analyzes project risks and develops mitigation plans
- Escalates issues impacting project success to supervisor
- Identifies and addresses resource constraints affecting project completion
Secondary Duties and Responsibilities
- Enforces HIPAA privacy rules
- Promotes superior customer service
Minimum Education and Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business, or a related field, with 6 years of progressive IT experience
- Two years managing medium complexity IT projects (budgets >$500K, resource hours >1,000)
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification from PMI
- Demonstrated knowledge of at least one project portfolio management tool (e.g. MS Project Server)
- Intermediate knowledge of Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent organizational and multitasking skills
- Obtain and maintain applicable gaming licenses in multiple jurisdictions
Competencies
- Develop comprehensive project plans using WBS in the PMO’s project schedule tool
- Earned Value Management (EVM) analysis
- Measurement of critical project metrics (budget, resource hours, critical milestone dates)
- Comprehensive understanding of TERO as it relates to employment
Training Requirements
- Knowledge of Mohegan Sun corporate and department policies and procedures
- Applicable regulations pertaining to Mohegan Sun information systems
- Mohegan Sun IS project management process and methodology
- Purchase request review and approval with enterprise supply-chain management application
- Mohegan Sun budget planning and analysis process and procedures
- Project estimation process and guidelines
Physical Demands and Work Environment
- Office work environment
- Sit for extended periods
- Occasional travel may be required
- Flexible work hours and various shifts may be necessary
