Project Manager II, FICC COO
About the role
This is a hybrid role with the expectation that time working will regularly take place inside and outside of a company office. The FICC COO organization is seeking a Project Manager II to support business project management, execution tracking, governance, and stakeholder coordination across Foreign Exchange, Interest Rate Derivatives, and Commodities.
Responsibilities
- Support the planning, execution, administration, and delivery of assigned business projects across FX, IRD, and Commodities.
- Manage project activities across the project lifecycle, including planning, scope definition, requirements coordination, design support, implementation tracking, and delivery readiness.
- Develop and maintain project plans, milestone trackers, action logs, issue logs, risk registers, and dependency trackers.
- Track progress against key deliverables, timelines, milestones, budgetary considerations, and other relevant performance indicators.
- Identify execution risks, delays, or dependencies and escalate issues to appropriate stakeholders in a timely manner.
- Help ensure projects are delivered with clear objectives, defined ownership, appropriate governance, and measurable outcomes.
- Coordinate project activities across internal teams and partner functions, including Product Management, Middle Office, Risk, Regulatory, Operations, Technology, Finance, Legal, Compliance, and broader Markets stakeholders.
- Facilitate communication across functions to improve alignment, transparency, and process flow.
- Convey clear expectations of project goals, deliverables, timelines, and accountabilities.
- Support resolution of project issues by coordinating input, clarifying ownership, and driving follow-up actions.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree and 4 years of experience in Project Management OR High School Diploma or GED and 8 years of experience in Project Management.
- Experience in project management, business project management, business management, COO, operations, risk, regulatory, product management, or a related financial services function.
- Experience managing or supporting project lifecycle activities, including planning, scope definition, execution tracking, issue management, reporting, and delivery coordination.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities, workstreams, deadlines, and stakeholders.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to prepare clear materials for senior or cross-functional audiences.
- Demonstrated ability to coordinate across multiple functions and drive follow-up on deliverables.
- Ability to identify risks, dependencies, and open issues, and escalate appropriately.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to high-quality execution.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools, including PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams, and SharePoint.
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with Markets, FICC, FX, Interest Rate Derivatives, Commodities, or related capital markets businesses.
- Experience working in a Markets COO, business management, middle office, operations, risk, regulatory change, or control environment.
- Understanding of trade lifecycle, front-to-back operating models, product governance, risk and control frameworks, or regulatory remediation.
- Experience creating project dashboards, executive updates, management reporting, project plans, and governance materials.
- Experience working with technology, operations, risk, compliance, legal, finance, or external vendor partners.
- Familiarity with Project Management Life Cycle disciplines; SDLC exposure helpful where projects include technology dependencies.
- Experience with tools such as Jira, Confluence, Smartsheet, Power BI, Tableau, Visio, or other project/reporting platforms.
Pay
The base pay for this position is generally between $104,000.00 and $140,000.00. Actual starting base pay will be determined based on skills, experience, location, and other non-discriminatory factors permitted by law.
