Project Manager I - FoodService Equipment and Supplies Experience Only

The Wasserstrom Company, established in 1902 and headquartered in Columbus, Ohio, is the nation’s leading family-owned Food Service Distributor. This role is based in our Regional Equipment Division in Phoenix, AZ.

About the role

Generate sales through existing accounts and identify and cultivate new accounts for Regional Equipment.

Responsibilities

• Call on management representatives (engineers, architects, and other professionals) at commercial, industrial, and other establishments to promote products or services.
• Review blueprints, plans, and customer documents to develop and prepare cost estimates or project production increases from proposed equipment or services.
• Propose changes in equipment, processes, or material usage to reduce costs or improve operations.
• Provide technical services to clients regarding equipment use, operation, and maintenance.
• Draft sales or service contracts for products or services.
• Identify potential clients, focusing on existing businesses, startups, and non-food service businesses with equipment needs.
• Contact potential clients in person to introduce the company, emphasizing product availability and service.
• Interview clients to assess current and future needs; recommend products to improve productivity.
• Match client needs with known products and stock items; close presentations by emphasizing need fulfillment and solution appropriateness.
• Follow through on client questions in a timely manner.
• Assist new clients in setting up credit accounts and resolve credit issues related to returns, defective merchandise, or service problems.
• Maintain existing accounts by performing the above responsibilities, booking orders, analyzing needs, and acting as a consultant.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university; or 2–4 years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Previous experience in the Foodservice equipment and supplies field is a plus.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Experience with SAP systems is a plus.
