Project Manager I

About the role

This role is onsite in our Des Moines or Cedar Rapids office. Our Project Manager's are responsible for overseeing the planning, execution and completion of commercial construction projects. This role involves aspects of management, ensuring the highest standards of quality, safety and compliance.

Responsibilities

• Working with project schedules, cost projections, contracts, project status reports & more.
• Lead construction progress meetings.
• Oversee design development.
• Prepare and manage project budgets, profit projections, schedules & bid documents.
• Negotiate and award subcontracts.
• Help conduct jobsite coordination meetings and job status reports.
• Work directly with owners/clients, field teams, subcontractors and various internal teams for support.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Engineering/Management
• 4+ years of proven experience in the commercial construction industry (healthcare experience preferred)
• Ability to travel for projects as needed

Qualifications

• Proven ability to manage light industrial projects including office/warehouse; retail and strip mall-type projects.
• Ability to begin to assume responsibility and effectively communicate with superintendents, subcontractors and owner/clients.
• Minimum of six months of estimating/preconstruction and Field experience.

Skills

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Pay

The base salary may vary within the anticipated range based on factors such as the ultimate location of the position and the selected candidate's knowledge, skills and abilities. Position may be eligible for additional compensation that may include commission and/or an incentive program.
