Project Manager I

About the role

K&A Engineering is seeking a Project Manager to join our dynamic team in Rochester, New York. This role offers the opportunity to work on impactful projects in the energy and utility sectors.

Responsibilities

• Initiating, planning, executing, and closing projects
• Defining the project Work Breakdown Structure (WBS), Cost Baseline, and Observance Plan (OBS)
• Building comprehensive work plans and controlling/supervising projects
• Managing quality and environmental processes on all projects
• Managing third-party projects including transmission customers and interconnecting customers
• Accountable and responsible for cost/budgeting and management
• Communicating, managing changes, scheduling, construction oversight, commissioning oversight, risk management, regulatory and stakeholder management
• Monitoring and measuring project performance and resolving contract disputes

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or related field
• 5+ years of experience in large-scale projects/program management for utility businesses
• Professional Engineer License and/or Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification
• Proficiency in Microsoft Project, Excel, PowerPoint, and Project Management Professional or Program Management Professional
• Experience in one of the following areas: Substations, Transmission & Distribution (T&D), Gas-Hydro, or Other Generation Services (OSG)

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years’ experience in the functional area under which it will be contracted
• Commensurate with experience

• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
• Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities
• Knowledge of industry standards and regulations

Pay

The salary range for this role is $100,000 - $115,000 annually.
