About the role
K&A Engineering is seeking a Project Manager to join our dynamic team in Rochester, New York. This role offers the opportunity to work on impactful projects in the energy and utility sectors.
Responsibilities
- Initiating, planning, executing, and closing projects
- Defining the project Work Breakdown Structure (WBS), Cost Baseline, and Observance Plan (OBS)
- Building comprehensive work plans and controlling/supervising projects
- Managing quality and environmental processes on all projects
- Managing third-party projects including transmission customers and interconnecting customers
- Accountable and responsible for cost/budgeting and management
- Communicating, managing changes, scheduling, construction oversight, commissioning oversight, risk management, regulatory and stakeholder management
- Monitoring and measuring project performance and resolving contract disputes
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or related field
- 5+ years of experience in large-scale projects/program management for utility businesses
- Professional Engineer License and/or Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification
- Proficiency in Microsoft Project, Excel, PowerPoint, and Project Management Professional or Program Management Professional
- Experience in one of the following areas: Substations, Transmission & Distribution (T&D), Gas-Hydro, or Other Generation Services (OSG)
Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in the functional area under which it will be contracted
- Commensurate with experience

- Strong leadership and communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities
- Knowledge of industry standards and regulations

Pay
The salary range for this role is $100,000 - $115,000 annually.
