Responsibilities
- Manage planning and scheduling construction activities related to Utility construction projects
- Coordinate with field crews, subcontractors, suppliers, and utility clients to support daily operations
- Monitor project progress, budget status, and timelines; report on variances and recommend corrective actions
- Maintain accurate project documentation including contracts, permits, change orders, and daily reports
- Help manage procurement of materials and ensure timely delivery to job sites
- Support compliance with local, state, and federal safety and environmental regulations
- Attend project meetings and provide updates to internal teams and external stakeholders
- Perform quality control inspections and assist with punch list development and closeout documentation
- Aid in cost tracking, billing, and preparation of project invoices
- Track project performance using Earned Value Management (EVM) principles to assess cost and schedule variances and provide accurate forecasts
- Prepare and present financial and performance reports, including cost-to-complete and earned value metrics
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil/Electrical Engineering, or related field preferred (equivalent experience considered)
- 2+ years of experience in construction project coordination, preferably in utility infrastructure
- Familiarity with utility standards, NESC/NESC codes, and safety protocols (OSHA, DOT, etc.)
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with project management software (e.g., Primavera, Procore, or similar) a plus
- Strong communication, organizational, and time-management skills
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
- Willingness to travel to project sites as needed
Preferred Skills
- Experience working with investor-owned utilities or municipal power companies
- Knowledge of permitting processes, easement coordination, and utility relocation
- PMP, OSHA 30, or other relevant certifications a plus
