Job Details

Top Heavy Highway and Paving Contractor is seeking a Senior Project Manager / Estimator for a permanent role in their organization. This position is pivotal to their company's success.

Responsibilities

  • Managing the planning and execution of heavy highway construction projects, ensuring they are completed on time and within budget.
  • Developing comprehensive project plans that merge customer requirements with company goals and coordinate various managers and technical personnel during all project phases.
  • Conducting detailed cost estimations and preparing budgets for projects, including labor, materials, and other expenses.
  • Making detailed scheduled reports on measurable items, such as milestones and deliverables.
  • Communicating proactively with all involved personnel to provide encouragement, identify problems, create solutions, and implement efficiency improvements.
  • Reviewing proposed changes and updates to contractual agreements with the help of legal teams.
  • Negotiating with vendors, suppliers, and subcontractors, ensuring the best possible terms for the company.

Qualifications

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in project management and estimation, specifically in the field of civil construction.
  • Proven experience in heavy highway construction is a must.
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
  • Strong knowledge of construction materials, processes, and equipment.
  • Excellent ability to read and understand blueprints, schematics, and construction documents.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills, with the ability to manage and guide teams effectively.
  • Exceptional communication and negotiation skills, with a knack for building strong relationships with clients, vendors, and team members.
  • Solid problem-solving abilities, with a strong focus on achieving results.
  • Proficiency in project management software tools.
