Project Manager - Healthcare - Owner's Rep

About the role

We are seeking a Project Manager passionate about healthcare to provide unbiased, independent client advocacy for every phase of project planning and execution. You will deliver project management and owner’s representation services in our healthcare sector in the Long Island, New York area, ensuring the success of investors, owners, and occupants. This role includes active management of the planning, design, construction, and closeout phases of projects.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage multiple complex projects from start to finish—on time and on budget.
• Build strong, trusting client relationships and bring the right people together to develop innovative ideas and solutions.
• Understand the project management process and the roles of each team member, as well as the processes practiced by architects, engineers, and other consultants.
• Manage the process to ensure clients’ goals and objectives are met within financial and schedule parameters for multiple stakeholders.
• Identify, assess, and mitigate issues related to scheduling, logistics, sequencing, cost, quality, and progress; negotiate claims and change orders.
• Review and evaluate project-related materials such as project descriptions, drawings, specifications, budgets, schedules, contracts, and proposals prepared by others.
• Review construction documents regularly for conformance to project goals, value engineering, and constructability.
• Develop project-related documents such as monthly reports, budgets, schedules, presentations, minutes, insurance tracking logs, etc., and review documents prepared by internal team members for accuracy.
• Oversee and manage a project team with respect to deliverables, performance, and project commitments.
• Understand the finances of acquisitions, development, and due diligence.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree, preferably in architecture, engineering, construction management, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in the healthcare sector.
• Prior experience with healthcare projects as an owner's representative required.
• Proven experience supporting municipal entities or non-profit organizations, with a strong understanding of public procurement rules and compliance regulations.
• Specialized experience overseeing capital projects within healthcare organizations, active hospital environments, or extended care medical facilities is highly preferred.
• Strong knowledge of construction methodologies, project management models, financial management, building codes, contract law, and relevant legislation.
• Demonstrated knowledge of client relations, design, construction, and FF&E processes.
• Demonstrated ability to manage various tasks, schedules, and deliverables.
• Enthusiasm to promote and drive implementation of projects.
• Professionally recognized designations are considered a strong asset.
• Strong leadership and organizational skills with a proven ability to effectively influence others and resolve client, project, and technical issues.
• Motivated to learn and grow.
• Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills.
• Proficient in MS Project, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
• Ability to read, write, and understand English for job-related communications and interactions.

Pay

$150,000 to $180,000 per year (depending on qualifications).
