Project Manager - Healthcare Commercial Construction

About the role
We are seeking a qualified Project Manager to join an extraordinary project team. While this is an individual role, you will engage in many facets of construction and contribute to evolving our existing operations. As the Project Manager, you are primarily responsible for project financials, schedule, risk management, quality, and client relationships. You will supervise the work and development of the project team, establish operational priorities, and maintain relationships with owners, subcontractors, unions, and others to ensure the economical, safe, and efficient execution of projects.
You will serve as the lead Project Manager over projects ranging from $10 million to $50 million in scope or oversee large scopes of work on larger projects.
Responsibilities
- Support the preconstruction effort, including assembling bid packages, directing pre-bid meetings, detailed analysis of bids, award, and assistance with contract negotiation.
- Identify and lead cost savings efforts through value engineering.
- Assemble accurate general conditions estimates and maintain GC budgets throughout construction.
- Ensure that construction, subcontracts, and purchase orders align with the Contract Documents.
- Understand what constitutes a breach of contract and the steps involved to enforce it.
- Analyze change order requests from the Owner or subcontractors, determine validity, and negotiate agreements.
- Mentor, train, and supervise direct reports, including Project Engineers and Assistant Project Manager(s), and delegate effectively.
- Accurately forecast project costs and report to leadership monthly.
- Oversee creation and maintenance of the project schedule, assist superintendents with updates, and ensure projects are completed on time.
Requirements
- 8+ years of relevant commercial construction experience; healthcare experience required.
- Knowledge of local market and city regulatory requirements and procedures preferred.
- Experience completing one or more projects as Project Leader in charge of outcome (financial, completion, schedule).
- Experience as part of a larger project team supporting the team leader on project management duties.
- Understanding of the successful pre-project planning effects on project delivery.
- College graduate with a relevant degree.
- Experience using Excel, Synchro, Procore, Bluebeam, Egnyte, CMiC, and Revit or comparable construction technologies is a plus.
- Estimator experience is a plus.
