About the role
The Project Manager is the ultimate authority on the development and completion of a construction project. They oversee the project, including hiring and approving work completed by subcontractors, negotiating contracts, and developing a budget and timeline. The PM resolves issues with subcontractors or government officials and acts as a liaison between the construction team, architects, designers, owners, and stakeholders to facilitate communication, decision-making, and problem-solving.
Responsibilities
- Orchestrate assigned projects by planning and scheduling workflow and assignments of project personnel.
- Establish project objectives, policies, procedures, and performance standards within corporate policy boundaries.
- Ensure Project Superintendents enforce all corporate policies and administer field activities in accordance with Haydon procedures.
- Oversee subcontractor management and prepare/administrate claims to the Owner.
- Coordinate with the Estimating Department to ensure timely issuance of subcontract and purchase order agreements.
- Manage proposal activities, including receipt, bid/no-bid decisions, response, and tracking.
- Coordinate customer interfacing and develop tools/processes supporting business development objectives.
- Manage budget, cost control, and financial forecasting.
- Ensure all contract document revisions (e.g., AIA Owner Change Orders, subcontractor change orders) are complete and executed monthly.
- Serve as a member of the Leadership Team, demonstrating leadership in motivating and developing teams.
- Develop monthly Owner applications for payment, ensuring accuracy and timely submission.
- Review and approve site office trailer locations, storage trailers, and company signs for public visibility.

Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering, or Construction Management and a minimum of 5–15 years of heavy civil experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
