Roles And Responsibilities
- Cook up with MSS Engineering, BIM, and Mechanical Operations teams
- Pinpoint Mechanical Construction necessities, restrictions, and responsibilities to fulfill all the client's facilities prerequisites
- Approve invoices
- Prepare and issue purchase orders for subcontractors
- Optimize job costs by haggling rates with vendors/sub-contractors
- Document work by keeping files for each job
- Inspect and maintain cost estimates of material, sub-contractors, purchased equipment, and other project-related activities
- Collaborate with engineering on the specification and pricing of purchased equipment to guarantee precision of quantity, size, configuration, voltage, options, etc.
Qualifications And Education Requirements
- Two years of experience as a Project Manager in Mechanical Construction or a fabrication/manufacturing shop or facility, particularly skid design and pre-fabrication elements
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent from a two-year college, military training, or technical school preferred
- Proven success in managing large projects
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operations manuals, and written directions
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, and specifications
- Ability to abide by basic safe work practices
- Ability to communicate with both internal and external customers
- Ability to write reports
Physical Demands
- Frequent sitting
- Occasional stooping, crouching, kneeling, balancing, and climbing
- Frequent standing, walking, reaching, and gripping
- Frequent lifting up to 50 lbs. and constant lifting up to 25 lbs.
Work Environment
- Exposure to weather, extreme heat or cold, high noise intensity level, atmospheric conditions, exposure to toxic or caustic chemicals, wet and/or humid, vibration, proximity to moving mechanical parts, working high exposure places (job sites), and/or an office environment with conditioned air and bright lights
