About the role
As Project Manager, Exam Item Banks, you will play a central role in how CFA Institute manages its exam question banks and delivers mock exam and practice content across the CFA Program and other credentialing products. You will combine project management with technical and operational oversight, coordinating work across systems, teams and stakeholders. A significant part of the role involves the movement and quality assurance of content between our item banking and learning platforms.
Responsibilities
- Lead the planning and delivery of multiple workstreams supporting exam item banks, mock exams and practice content.
- Oversee the movement of assessment content between systems such as ProBuilder and Canvas, including file setup, metadata and related technical processes.
- Act as a key point of coordination when system issues, break-fix situations or workflow dependencies require collaboration across teams.
- Build strong working relationships across Exam Development, Learning Technology, Content Operations and other Education teams.
- Oversee QA, QC and UAT activity to make sure candidate-facing practice and mock exam content is accurate, functional and ready for release.
- Identify risks, capacity constraints and delivery trade-offs early, and recommend changes to sequencing, scope or resources where needed.
- Improve workflows and documentation as content volumes and technical processes continue to evolve.
- Maintain oversight of data integrity, metadata and the reliable operation of the systems and processes supporting the item banks.
Requirements
- Strong project or programme management experience in a complex environment, with evidence of managing multiple interconnected workstreams from planning through delivery.
- Demonstrable experience building and managing integrated schedules, dependencies, resources and competing priorities.
- Experience working with technology-enabled operational or content workflows and enough technical fluency to understand system interactions, troubleshoot issues and work effectively with technical partners.
- Experience with QA, QC and/or UAT processes, particularly around system implementations, enhancements or content delivery.
- Familiarity with learning management systems, content management systems or comparable platforms.
- Strong stakeholder management skills, with evidence of building relationships and influencing decisions across different teams.
- Experience working with data, metadata or structured content where accuracy and integrity across systems are important.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the judgement to navigate ambiguity and make practical decisions when plans change.

Pay
Expected salary range: US - $83,000 - $110,000 per year. Actual salary within the stated range will depend on the individual's experience, qualifications, skills, location, and other job-related factors.
