Responsibilities

  • Overseeing the bidding, tracking, execution, and costing of assigned projects within the Construction Department.
  • Helping determine workload, bid pricing, and overseeing materials pricing and procurement.
  • Maintaining consistent communication with general contractors, managing change orders, coordinating project workflows, procuring parts, and handling clerical tasks that support overall project success.
  • Built and nurtured relationships with customers to expand the construction teams.
  • Worked closely with vendors to secure the most competitive pricing and ensure projects are monitored and managed to stay on schedule and within budget.
  • Collaborates with executive-level management, including the Vice President of Construction and Construction Managers, in the development of performance goals, workflows, and long-term plans.
  • Analyzed current operational processes and performance, recommending efficiency improvements that drive GM% improvement and minimize overhead costs.
  • Aids department managers in resolving issues that may arise during construction-related work.
  • Develops, implements, and monitors day-to-day operational systems and processes, providing visibility into goals, progress, and obstacles for key initiatives.
  • Built and maintained relationships with construction department heads, general contractors, the estimating team, and vendors to make decisions and set strategic goals.
  • Cultivated relationships with customers to build and maintain the workload.
  • Sets up and monitors projects in Procore from initiation to completion.
  • Monitors budgets for active projects.
  • Schedules team manpower.
  • Collaborates with the Service team and Maverik Management team to ensure they have the necessary materials and resources for successful project handoffs.
  • Communicates critical issues and risks to senior leadership and drives them to resolution with consistent objectivity.
  • Ensures and manages effective communication with all stakeholders.

Qualifications

  • Excellent interpersonal written and oral communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office including advanced skills in Excel (Pivot tables, Vlookup, Macros, If Statements, Formulas).
  • Ability to coordinate, contribute to and work within a cross-functional team.
  • Strong critical-thinking and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Ability to remain disciplined and show continued perseverance.
  • Ability to focus and be committed to resolve complex issues.
  • Ability to be flexible and operate in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proven ability to easily establish rapport and effective relationships, while driving accountability for shared results.
