Project Manager -Engineering (Tulsa)

About the Role

We are seeking a Project Manager with 3+ years of midstream experience to manage the development and execution of a broad range of natural gas facility projects, including high-pressure transmission pipeline, compression, storage, gathering, treating, and processing.

Responsibilities

• Define and prepare job scopes and cost estimates.
• Provide leadership and direction to project teams comprised of internal and external service providers, including Project Engineers, Planning Engineers, Operations Engineers, and Environmental Engineers.
• Interact professionally with various departments such as Certificates, Legal, and Land.
• Create and direct project controls for assigned projects.
• Provide or direct appropriate project documentation to ensure compliance with Corporate, Federal, State, and other governing bodies' policies.
• Prepare and deliver presentations on project proposals, descriptions, and status to upper management, governmental agencies, and/or the public.
• Communicate project status to business sponsors using written and verbal communications.
• Provide accurate monthly project cash flow forecasts.
• Manage projects to ensure safety, reliability, environmental, and human impacts are mitigated while meeting project goals (schedule, budget, safety, and quality).
• Communicate clearly, both in person and by telephone, using strong verbal skills and listening carefully.
• Report to Management on goals and objectives.
• Ensure ongoing improvement through evaluation of current processes.
• Maintain regular, dependable attendance and a high level of performance.
• Prioritize personal safety, the safety of company assets and employees, and the general public.
• Travel is required and anticipated as 25 percent across a broad geographic region.
• Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Civil, or Chemical Engineering.
• Minimum of 3 years (preferably 5 years) of direct work experience in engineering or managing midstream natural gas facility and pipeline projects.
• Ability to understand the needs of the business unit(s) for which development work is being performed.
• Basic understanding of upstream, midstream, and downstream projects.
• Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and other Office Suite products).
• Strong analytical skills and logical thought processes.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to present ideas, proposals, and results to business leaders and internal/external customers.
• Ability to organize and prioritize daily work, manage large projects, and maintain strict confidentiality.
• Ability to successfully and simultaneously manage multiple tasks with minimal direct supervision.
• General understanding of corporate policies, procedures, practices, and processes related to the Gas Pipeline business segment.
• Experience in developing, implementing, and managing operating budgets.
• Ability to work with a team, follow directions, adhere to work rules, and prioritize work schedules.
• Ability to identify and establish expectations in an employee/employer relationship.
• Solid communication, motivation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to manage projects involving individuals with varying disciplines, backgrounds, and experience levels.
• Requirement to carry a company-provided cell phone/pager and be available to respond during working and non-working hours.
• Possess and maintain a valid driver’s license and a driving record satisfactory to the company and its insurer.
• Effectively prioritize workload between several projects, including the ability to take on new projects and shift priorities on short notice.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in Engineering and Designing compressor stations, pipelines, and meter stations for mainline gas transmission service.
• Understanding of basic economic analysis as it pertains to project justification.
• Experience in the mainline gas transmission industry.

Working Conditions

• Ability to climb tank stairs and walk over uneven surfaces.
• Largely indoors but may be subject to working in extreme temperatures.
• Travel required: 25%.
