Project Manager-ENG

About the Role

The EPC Project Manager is responsible for overseeing engineering activities in Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) for combined cycle power plant projects. This role ensures compliance with contractual, technical, environmental, and regulatory requirements, serving as the primary interface for engineering deliveries related to procurement, construction, and commissioning.

Responsibilities

• Engineering Project Leadership: Direct all phases of project engineering from notice-to-proceed through commercial operation, develop and implement execution strategies, lead interdisciplinary teams, and establish objectives, KPIs, and performance metrics.
• Engineering Management: Oversee detailed engineering activities, ensure design compliance with owner requirements, codes, and permits, coordinate disciplines, and manage design reviews, value engineering, and technical risk assessments.
• Engineering for Procurement: Support procurement of long-lead and critical equipment, assist in supplier selection, contract negotiations, and vendor performance.
• Engineering for Construction Management: Coordinate engineering support for site construction, resolve technical and commercial issues.
• Engineering for Contract Administration: Manage EPC contract obligations, review and negotiate change orders, and ensure contractual deliverables.
• Engineering for Risk Management: Identify project risks, develop mitigation plans for technical, commercial, construction, and safety risks.
• Engineering for Commissioning & Startup: Assist with pre-commissioning, commissioning, startup, performance testing, system turnover, plant handover, and transition to operations.
• Engineering for Stakeholder Management: Support interactions with owners, lenders, regulators, and stakeholders, including project review meetings and presentations.

Qualifications

• Required:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
  • 10+ years managing EPC projects in power generation, energy, or heavy industrial sectors.
  • 5+ years of experience with Combined Cycle Gas Turbine (CCGT) power plants.
  • Strong knowledge of EPC contracting models and project delivery methods.
• Preferred:
  • PMP Certification.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) License.
  • Experience with major OEM equipment.
