About the role

The Electrical Project Manager contributes to the overall success of CR Meyer and its heavy industrial customers throughout the planning, budgeting, construction, and post-construction project phases related to electrical construction. This role ensures all project goals are accomplished within CR Meyer’s safety guidelines, quality standards, schedule, and budget requirements. The position provides leadership to the project team and collaborates with heavy industrial/manufacturing customers, as well as the CR Meyer Design/Build team, to deliver successful electrical construction projects.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and provide bids to customers using approved design specifications, follow up on proposals, and execute all paperwork to secure project commitments.
  • Establish budgets, timelines, and overall goals for electrical construction project execution.
  • Implement the CR Meyer Risk Control Plan, lead efforts to maintain a safe job site, and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulatory requirements.
  • Obtain all necessary permits and conduct routine site visits to review budget status, progress, and safety/compliance standards.
  • Develop the project team, including subcontractors and vendors, and manage their services, schedules, and resources.
  • Prepare purchase orders, oversee labor hours, expense sheets, invoicing, and manage receivables.
  • Provide regular updates and communication to customers, project teams, field staff, and subcontractors to ensure projects stay within specifications, schedule, and budget.
  • Track and communicate productivity factors, document them for future reference, and use CR Meyer-provided software for project management updates.
  • Ensure proper QA/QC standards and procedures are implemented and work with the Design/Build team on engineering controls.
  • Oversee the preparation of the final project punch list, ensure its completion, and document projects for future reference.
  • Wear all assigned PPE, observe CR Meyer safety guidelines, and maintain regular and reliable attendance.
  • Complete all related reports and paperwork in a timely manner and represent the CR Meyer brand professionally.

Requirements

  • Five to ten years of experience in estimating and managing large-scale electrical construction projects, with an emphasis on equipment installation/erection.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering preferred; a combination of education and experience will be considered.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and project management software.
  • Ability to complete all CR Meyer training and perform job duties within safety guidelines, including First Aid/CPR Certification, OSHA 30, and SafeStart.
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening and comply with CR Meyer’s Drug & Alcohol Policy and Program.
  • Valid driver’s license, insurable driving history, and ability to operate a motor vehicle following all traffic laws and safe driving habits.
  • Must be legally eligible to work in the United States without employer sponsorship.
  • Ability to travel to various project sites within the United States.
