The University of Nevada, Reno is conducting a search for a Project Manager for the Facilities Services, Planning and Construction Department. The Project Manager, under the supervision of the Director of Construction Services, is responsible for managing multiple construction, repair, and renovation projects of moderate design and construction complexity, volume, budget and timelines.Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Manage multiple projects involving departments, architectural/engineering firms, contractors, vendors and state agenciesManage the consultant selection process and contract negotiations, provide documentation for contracts, and manage the out-sourced architectural and engineering consultantsInterpret and develop contractual language regarding scope of work and formalized policies, guidelines, rules and regulationsPrioritize and manage multiple complex commercial design projectsWork with project constituents to develop scope of workConduct project meetings and project site visitsEnsure contract complianceInterpret and enforce building codes and standardsProvide input on project management software programParticipate in the development of strategic project planning; andOther duties as assigned Required QualificationsBachelor’s degree and four (4) years of related professional work experience; ORMaster’s degree and two (2) years of related professional work experience. Related Experience: Progressively responsible experience as a project manager for increasingly complex projects typically requiring coordination of multiple trades and engineering specialties, mid-range timelines, and increased finances. Preferred QualificationsA degree in Construction Management or related fieldA license by the Board of Architecture, Interior Design, and Residential Design; ORA professional Engineer license and/or Project Management Professional Certification Certification and LicensureA valid Class “C” driver’s license or higher operator’s license is required at the time of appointment and as a condition of continuing employment. Physical DemandsThis position requires walking or standing to a significant degree and pushing and/or pulling; exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects. This position requires the incumbent to climb ladders and enter attics, crawl spaces, mechanical rooms, trenches, and other such confined spaces. Schedule and Travel RequirementsThe typical work schedule is Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm; this is subject to change based on organizational needs. This position may be able to elect an alternative work schedule. Occasional travel may be required. This position may require a variable work schedule.This position is designated as Essential Personnel. In the event of a campus emergency, special event, closure to maintain campus safety or building operations, this position may be required to work outside of regularly scheduled hours.
