About the Role

The Project Manager will be responsible for managing the scope, schedule, and budget of small to large-scale design projects across the project lifecycle—from conceptual studies to full design and construction administration. This includes planning and managing project staffing requirements, reporting project performance, and identifying and addressing scope creep, schedule, or quality issues to ensure successful project delivery.

Responsibilities

  • Manages one or more complex projects, involving the full spectrum of engineering services offered by AECOM.
  • Provides project and technical task management for one or more simultaneous projects.
  • Identifies problems, determines accuracy and relevance of information, uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and makes recommendations.
  • Reviews contracts, prepares fee proposals, and develops project execution strategies.
  • Manages sub-consultant scope, fees, deliverables, and performance.
  • Demonstrates strong report and proposal writing skills.
  • Adheres to and enforces company and project policies.
  • Assists in developing new client relationships and strengthens existing ones.
  • Identifies, understands, and focuses on clients’ key requirements.
  • Serves as the primary liaison between AECOM and the client.
  • Provides team leadership, guidance to subordinate managers, and mentorship to junior team members.
  • Participates in selected marketing and business development opportunities in support of the sales team.

Requirements

  • BS in Civil Engineering plus 6 years of project management-related experience, or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
  • U.S. Citizenship is required for this position.
  • Hybrid work schedule requiring in-office work in Hawaii on a scheduled basis.
  • Sponsorship is not available for this position.

Qualifications

  • Experience with computer-aided design (AutoCAD).
  • Experience with ArcGIS.
  • Professional Engineer Registration with the ability to attain a Hawaii Professional Architectural Registration within 12 months.
  • Previous experience leading projects with multi-disciplinary teams to required quality, timeliness, and budget parameters.
  • Demonstrated experience in managing design-focused projects.
  • Advanced knowledge of planning and design processes, construction documentation, construction administration, and code requirements.
  • Experience managing concurrent projects in various stages of development and multiple project types with an emphasis on design, sustainability, and innovation.
  • Innovative problem solver with excellent verbal/written communication and presentation skills.
  • Proven ability to manage people and projects through strong organizational skills.
  • Strong skills in the full suite of MS Office applications.
  • Experience with Federal, State of Hawaii, City and County of Honolulu, and/or design-build projects is a plus.
  • Strong team player with good presentation and communication skills in English.

Pay

Offered rate of compensation will be based on individual education, qualifications, and experience. The range for this position is $120,000 to $150,000 yearly.
