ARCO/Murray is seeking a highly motivated Project Manager passionate about the construction process to join our team in our Birmingham office. Responsibilities
- Lead and coordinate all managerial and administrative aspects of projects from preconstruction through closeout.
- Work closely with clients and the design team to develop preliminary concept drawings and project budgets.
- Participate in proposal meetings with clients to review scope of work, discuss cost-reduction strategies, provide value engineering ideas, and negotiate contracts & fees.
- Oversee subcontractor selection and buyout process for all trades and vendors.
- Identify and investigate opportunities to procure materials and/or specialty equipment directly when advantageous to project budget or schedule.
- Work with Project Superintendent to develop and review subcontractor scopes of work/contracts, project schedule, and site logistics plan.
- Lead preconstruction planning meetings with designers, subcontractors, and vendors to address constructability, sequencing, and/or manpower issues.
- Organize, plan, and manage multiple activities to accomplish desired results.
- Track and manage project performance vs. budget; prepare owner pay applications, cost status, and progress billing reports.
- Make the construction process fun for clients, subcontractors, and vendors without sacrificing quality or safety.
Requirements
- BS in Engineering or related field.
- 2-5 years of construction management or engineering design experience.
- Previous experience leading ground-up commercial, light industrial, multi-family, hospitality, or entertainment construction projects is preferred.
- Proficiency using Word, Excel, Outlook, and Microsoft Project.
