Responsibilities
- Manage Capital Projects: Oversee all phases of capital projects and studies, ensuring they meet schedules, budgets, and customer requirements.
- Resource Coordination: Secure and manage resources for project implementation, from concept to start-up, direct the development of necessary engineering documents, and ensure involvement of appropriate personnel from Engineering, Procurement, Construction, Operations, and Maintenance (EPCOM).
- Project Monitoring and Reporting: Collaborate with Project Controls to track progress, report deviations, and communicate future work projections.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Work with various organizations to develop and implement project execution strategies and ensure compliance with contractor agreements.
- Strategic Planning and Evaluation: Develop annual capital plans, manage expenditures, and evaluate project performance, promoting best-value practices and continuous improvement.
- Risk Management: Regularly evaluate and mitigate issues that create project risk to meeting project objectives. Proactively anticipate those issues and develop mitigation plans.
Qualifications
- Minimum of a BA or BS degree (Engineering preferred).
- 10 years of experience in various aspects of the Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) process or appropriate comparable experience.
- Solid understanding of the (FEL) front-end-loading capital process, from project definition through plant start-up.
- Excellent communication, coordination, and team leadership skills.
- Demonstrated commitment to safety and to implementing safe capital facilities.
- Must be able to travel as needed based on project needs. Travel is estimated at 25% but could occasionally be 50%.
What Will Make You Stand Out
- 5+ years of Project Management experience on capital projects.
- PMP Certification.
- 5+ years of leadership experience (indirect or direct) in manufacturing.
- 5+ years of experience in the Chemical, Petroleum or Pharmaceutical industry.
