Project Manager, Capital Programs

About the role

The School District of Philadelphia is seeking an administrative leader in the Office of Capital Programs to manage project teams for renovations, replacements, and new constructions. The successful candidate will oversee project planning, design reviews, and construction oversight.

Responsibilities

• Reviews architectural and mechanical design documents for feasibility and adherence to district standards.
• Inspects project sites for compliance with plans and specifications.
• Manages requests for information with consulting design firms during project transitions.
• Writes technical reports, procedural memos, and evaluations.
• Prepares cost estimates and invoices.
• Coordinates design concepts with relevant city agencies and departments.
• Convenes meetings with instructional personnel, administrators, and community groups to discuss design concepts.
• Supervises inspections of construction operations to ensure compliance with codes and regulations.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Architecture or Mechanical Engineering from an accredited college or university.
• Five years of full-time, paid, high-level architectural or professional mechanical engineering experience.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of modern building and mechanical engineering methods and materials.
• Ability to write and modify design specifications, prepare technical memorandums, and create cost estimates.
• Effective communication skills, both oral and written.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively with diverse teams.

Skills

• Proficiency in AutoCAD 2015 or higher.
• Experience with Microsoft Office applications, Adobe PDF, and Microsoft Project.

The starting salary for this position is $X per year, commencing at the first salary step for non-members.

Schedule
