About the role

This isn’t just a job, it’s a chance to lead innovation, engineer impact, and build a legacy of excellence. HDR is looking for an experienced Project Manager - Building Design to join the Building Engineering Services Business Group in our Charlotte or Raleigh office.

Responsibilities

  • Perform client development and management activities to support our design center in Charlotte, NC.
  • Lead and manage multidiscipline teams, utilizing HDR’s business systems and project management tools.
  • Build team technical expertise and design production capacity through recruitment, staff development and training.
  • Function as a Project Manager and be responsible for executing projects.
  • Coordinate with sub-consultants and deliver projects on time and within budget.
  • Communicate with clients and lead multi-discipline design teams through small and large projects.
  • Participate in leadership for external marketing and planning.
  • Prepare contract preparation and negotiation, scheduling, budgeting, invoicing, and project quality control.

Requirements

  • Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, 10 years related experience, 5 years project management experience, PE license, local candidates are preferred, Microsoft Office Suite experience, Excellent leadership and planning skills and ability to thrive in a team environment, Strong skills in preparing client presentations, project memoranda and reports.
  • Required Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in related field, 7 years related experience, A minimum of 2 years project management experience, Ability to interact with various design teams, Excellent organizational, project management and communication (both written and verbal) skills, An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must.

Pay

The salary range for this position is $80,000 - $120,000 annually, depending on experience and qualifications.

Schedule

This position is full-time and requires some regional/national travel as needed.
