Project Manager
This role is hybrid on-site (3 days a week) from our Northbrook/Chicago, IL, Raleigh, NC, or other ULS locations in the US.
About the Role
The Project Manager will support the Chief Commercial Officer (CCO) team, leading transformational projects within Commercial Excellence. These projects will collaborate with the Senior Leadership Team of CE, establishing a new center of expertise within the business and impacting both CE and external teams at UL Solutions. You will lead project efforts, including process transformation and large-scale IT deliveries, guiding teams through project design, planning, change management, and execution in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Manage the implementation of small to medium projects.
- Provide overall leadership and support to project team members.
- Act as front-line contact on project-related activities, issues, and risks.
- Manage project risks and issues, escalating as needed.
- Interface with Business Unit Leaders, Finance, and develop ROI, IRR, and other financial measures.
- Manage stakeholder communication and escalate accordingly.
- Adhere to program and project governance (controls).
- Plan the overall project, monitor progress, and perform daily project management throughout the project's lifecycle.
- Manage the project budget and financial performance.
- Coordinate projects and their interdependencies.
- Manage and utilize resources effectively.
- Align deliverables (outputs) to the project's outcome with the aid of the business change manager.
- Read and follow the UL Solutions Code of Conduct and adhere to all physical and digital security practices.
- Perform other duties as directed.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in business or a related field.
- PMP, Prince 2, and/or Agile certification (preferred but not required).
- 4+ years of project management experience.
- Experience working with project and portfolio management tools (Visio, MS Project, Clarity, etc.).
- Strong project management and team leadership skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with sponsor reporting and escalation experience.
- Ability to clearly communicate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Strong facilitation, collaboration, negotiation, and presentation skills.
- Ability to anticipate risks and devise solutions in the moment.
- Focused and versatile team player comfortable under pressure, ambiguity, frequent change, or unpredictability.
- Understand current and future business goals and ongoing IT issues to ensure business success.

Pay
The estimated salary range for this position is $80,000–$90,000, based on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and geographical location. This position is also eligible for an annual bonus with a target payout of 10% of the base salary.
