About the role

Bowhead seeks to network with a Project Manager to support our proposal effort to support the Fort Riley, Kansas, logistics operations - Maintenance, Supply, and Transportation to the installation logistics support contract activity.

Responsibilities

  • Provide logistical support in the areas of supply, maintenance, and transportation at FRKS and surrounding locations identified as off-post support locations.
  • Responsible for financial management, general accounting requirements and quality control plan/processes as they relate to the total logistical responsibility of the task order.
  • Responsible for continuous process improvement (CPI) and quality assurance (including, but not limited to, tracking performance, cost outcomes, CPI awareness training).
  • Establish program objectives or performance goals and assess progress.
  • Gain cooperation in order to coordinate the work of others and build a cohesive team.
  • Adjust work to operational needs and meet emergency or changing program and/or production requirements.
  • Work with subordinate managers, delegate tasks and authority to those mangers and ensure those tasks completed satisfactorily.
  • Analyze organizational and operational problems and develop timely and economical solutions.
  • Maintain control and accountability for all Government furnished property, Government furnished material, Government Furnished Equipment and Government furnished facilities.
  • Communicate clearly and directly with internal and external stakeholders, present briefs, prepare detailed operational reports including manpower, schedules, and financial.
  • Implement a continuous Risk Management process throughout the life cycle of the Contract.
  • Lead and direct the FRKS management and technical team.
  • Monitor/provide effective performance feedback through employee recognition, coaching, and disciplinary action.
  • Ensure flow of communication from upper management to employees and vice versa.

Requirements

  • Minimum fifteen (15) years of management experience in Army logistics operations.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience with financial management and knowledge of Army Logistics Information Systems (LIS).
  • Minimum of five (5) years’ documented management experience managing 50+ personnel both directly and indirectly with or in support of the US military.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree, required or 10 years’ experience in Army logistics operations.
  • Master’s Degree, preferred.
  • Written and oral communications abilities commensurate with this management role.
  • Intermediate to advanced level skills in Microsoft Office software suite - Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint.
  • Ability to understand, speak, read, and write the English language.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of employees, Government Representative, and outside contacts.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and good judgment with the ability to work alone or as part of a team.
  • Valid driver’s license in the state of employment with an acceptable driving record.
  • Able to pass a pre-employment background check.
