About the Role

We are seeking a Project Manager to join our team supporting the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) in Rockville, MD. The NRC GLobal INfrastructure and Development Acquisition (GLINDA) provides a wide variety of Information Technology (IT) support services, including architecture, design, planning, deployment, and management of enterprise-class systems and solutions. This role involves managing and coordinating various small to large IT projects.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, coordinate, and manage small, medium, and large projects.
  • Coordinate with customers and other agencies to deliver solutions while navigating customer governance and providing updates.
  • Direct project team personnel, manage cost and schedule, ensure contract compliance, and serve as the customer interface.
  • Manage the technical, cost, and schedule aspects of assigned tasks or functions.
  • Provide strong, proactive, and assertive leadership to engage multidiscipline work teams in responding to business needs.
  • Make decisions at the project team level and escalate unresolved issues as needed.
  • Lead project team members, including executives, subject matter experts, controllers, and schedulers, through the project lifecycle.
  • Manage project teams involving multiple vendors and work centers.
  • Create project management plans, set expectations, and ensure alignment with organizational procedures.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional stakeholders to develop project scope, objectives, goals, and deliverables.
  • Ensure requirements are gathered, documented, reviewed, and approved per organizational/PMO standards.
  • Ensure projects are delivered on time, on budget, and within scope; monitor and track project dependencies.
  • Create a work breakdown structure defining all activities required for project deliverables.
  • Manage project budgets, maintain financial plans, track actuals vs. plan, provide monthly forecasts, and report monthly accruals.
  • Allocate appropriate resources to ensure projects are completed within time and budget constraints.
  • Coordinate priorities and resources between multiple projects.
  • Establish and provide high-quality, informative written and verbal project communications, including weekly status updates, dashboards, and project reports.
  • Actively monitor, track, and manage project tasks, timelines, milestones, and overall quality of project activities and deliverables.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience in project management.
  • Ability to build and maintain relationships, partnerships, and external networks.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while collaborating effectively in a team environment.
  • Excellent customer-facing and leadership skills.
  • Experience with large/complex nationwide projects.
  • Strong research, decision-making, and organizational skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proven analytical, evaluative, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to data protection guidelines.
  • Must be able to pass a drug screening.
  • Must have a valid state driver’s license and proof of insurance.
  • Must reside within the continental United States.
  • Must be a United States citizen with the ability to receive an NRC IT-1 Public Trust clearance.

Pay

Target salary range: $120,000.00 - $140,000.00. The range is an estimate and may vary based on education, experience, skills, competencies, contract parameters, and organizational requirements.

Schedule

  • Primarily day shift, Monday through Friday.
  • 90% telework, 10% on-site in Rockville, MD.
  • May be requested to work evenings and weekends to meet program and contract needs.
  • Less than 10% travel required.
