About the Role

The Project Manager will play a crucial role in overseeing and executing various electric utility projects from inception to completion. This role demands a proactive and organized professional with exceptional leadership, communication, and technical skills.

Responsibilities

  • Develop comprehensive project plans, defining scope, goals, deliverables, and timelines.
  • Coordinate with internal teams and external stakeholders to assign tasks and responsibilities.
  • Monitor project progress, identify potential roadblocks, and implement effective solutions.
  • Ensure adherence to industry best practices, safety guidelines, and regulatory standards.
  • Prepare project budgets and cost estimates, tracking expenses throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Identify potential risks and develop risk mitigation strategies to minimize project disruptions.
  • Continuously assess project risks and make data-driven decisions to overcome challenges.
  • Implement contingency plans to address unforeseen circumstances and maintain project momentum.
  • Delegate tasks, set clear expectations, and provide guidance to team members.
  • Conduct regular performance evaluations, mentorship, and professional development initiatives.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Project Management, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Proven experience (5+ years) as a Project Manager (preferably in the electric utility industry or a related field).
  • In-depth knowledge of electric utility systems, equipment, and infrastructure.
  • Demonstrated success in managing financials, schedule and change control, involving project sponsor and stakeholders.
  • Strong understanding of project management methodologies, tools, and techniques.
  • Excellent Customer and Executive Management relationship skills
  • Ability to make informed decisions under pressure, meet strict deadlines, and facilitate focused and cross-functional meetings and calls.
  • Familiarity with regulatory requirements and environmental standards in the electric utility industry

Nice-To-Haves

  • Utility and Contractor experience
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is a plus
