About the role

K&A Power Group is a privately held engineering firm dedicated to delivering technical expertise and engineering excellence to power utility and industrial clients globally. We specialize in substation, transmission, distribution, and distributed energy resources, providing comprehensive consulting, engineering, design, program management, construction management, and EPC services.

Responsibilities

  • Provide overall management of the project with knowledge & experience in all segments (overhead, substation, and underground), including schedule and budget management.
  • Initiate, plan, execute, and close projects — define the project WBS, cost baseline, and OBS structure, initiate the project, build its comprehensive work plan, control and manage the risks, scope, schedule, and budget.
  • Manage teams — facilitate commitment and productivity, remove obstacles, and manage teams.
  • Oversee the Engineering team and provide support to field & design.
  • Implement and manage quality and environmental processes and procedures on all projects.
  • Manage third-party projects.
  • Accountable and responsible for: cost/budgeting and management, communication management, change management, schedule management, construction management oversight, commissioning management oversight, risk management, regulatory and stakeholder management.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in an Engineering, Engineering Management, or Construction Management discipline preferred.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is preferred.
  • 10-15 years' experience including 3 or more years managing major engineering/procurement/construction activities.
  • Strong safety-first focus.
  • Knowledge and experience with project management processes and tools.
  • Proficiency with financial analysis tools in a utility setting.
  • Excellent leadership and organizational skills.
  • Able to work effectively with competing priorities and stressful situations.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products (i.e. Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint).

  • Must be able to travel to office for meetings.
