About Hut 8

Imagine the ultimate destination for those who want to work at the cutting edge of technology, energy, and infrastructure. Hut 8 is on a mission to build and operate some of the world’s largest data centers for next-generation computing workloads, including AI, Colocation, Cloud, and Bitcoin Mining. We offer interesting and challenging opportunities for individuals who want to build teams, solve problems, and make an impact from day one.

About the Role

The Project Manager manages day-to-day execution of a data center build across internal teams, EPC partners, and vendors, and is accountable for driving actions, risks, and deliverables to closure. The Program Director owns the outcome; the PM owns the machine that produces it—the operating cadence, the decision velocity, and the follow-through that keeps a hundred moving pieces converging on energization.

Responsibilities

  • Execution Management: Run the project's operating rhythm: weekly execution meetings, action and decision logs, deliverable tracking across engineering, supply chain, construction, and commissioning. Clear blockers fast; when you escalate, bring the recommendation and the trade-offs, not just the problem.
  • EPC Partner & Vendor Management: Manage GC/EPC partners, consultants, and vendors against contracted scope, milestones, and quality. Run partner coordination meetings, hold deliverable schedules, manage submittal and RFI throughput jointly with engineering, and keep long-lead equipment (with supply chain) tied to the installation schedule.
  • Scope, Risk & Change Support: Guard scope: catch creep early and route it through the change process. Feed the risk register with emerging design, procurement, and field issues; own mitigation actions assigned to you; and support the Risk & Change Manager on entitlement and pricing reviews.
  • Cost & Schedule Partnership: Work daily with the Planner/Scheduler and Cost Controller: challenge progress claims, understand critical-path drivers, support forecasts and accrual inputs, and validate invoices against actual progress.
  • Stakeholder Management & Reporting: Produce sharp weekly project status for the Program Director and leadership—schedule health, top risks, decisions needed, and commitments made. Represent the project in utility, AHJ, customer, and Managed Services coordination as delegated.
  • Commissioning & Turnover: Drive the project-management side of the commissioning runway: Cx prerequisites, vendor technician scheduling, punch velocity, and turnover documentation completeness with the CXQC Field Manager.

Requirements

  • 6+ years of project management on data center, mission-critical, or heavy industrial construction programs, with owner's-side or EPC delivery experience.
  • Proven record running execution across owners, EPC partners, and vendors—and driving open items to closure without being asked twice.
  • Working knowledge of construction contracts (GMP/lump sum/EPC), submittal and RFI workflows, and long-lead procurement dynamics.
  • Fluency in P6-driven schedules and earned-value/cost fundamentals—enough to challenge a progress claim credibly.
  • Risk and change process literacy: notices, entitlement basics, and disciplined documentation.
  • Excellent written communication; your weekly report is the project's source of truth.
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, construction management, or related field; PMP a plus.
  • Comfortable with significant site presence during peak construction and commissioning (up to 50%).
  • Calm and decisive under schedule pressure—the person the room looks at when something breaks.

About the Work Environment

This role can be based full-time at the project site or out of our Miami headquarters. Miami-based employees should expect frequent travel to the project site, including extended periods on-site as project needs require.

Benefits

  • Medical, dental, vision, life, and short-term and long-term disability insurance.
  • Paid time off.

What Makes Hut 8 a Great Place to Work

  • Work with bright, driven peers from a range of educational and professional backgrounds including software development, energy, engineering, entrepreneurship, investment banking, private equity, and management consulting.
  • Design and pitch new products, services, and other initiatives to a leadership team consisting of serial entrepreneurs and seasoned executives backed by a board of directors with industry veterans in energy, finance, and government.
  • Debate ideas and alternatives in a truly meritocratic setting where the learning curve is steep and the lessons come from both senior and junior members of the team.
  • Build a lifelong network of friends and professional connections at the cutting-edge intersection of technology, energy, and infrastructure.
