The Houston-Galveston Area Council is one of the largest regional planning commissions in the country with a diverse service area of 13 counties and more than 7 million people. Key Qualifications
- Strong project management and organizational skills
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and facilitation abilities
- Experience working with diverse communities and cross-functional teams
- Experience in public administration projects and a high degree of understanding of applicable federal, state, and local government agency procedures and processes
Responsibilities
- Build and maintain strong relationships with community organizations, service providers, and key stakeholders
- Serve as the primary liaison between internal teams, service providers and community partners
- Facilitate collaboration and alignment across diverse stakeholder groups
- Develop and execute comprehensive community engagement strategies aligned with organizational goals
- Establish engagement standards, frameworks, and best practices across regions or programs
- Define project scope, timelines, deliverables, and success metrics
- Track and evaluate engagement activities and project outcomes
- Establish systems to monitor accountability and ensure adherence to engagement standards
- Collect and analyze community feedback to inform improvements
- Identify gaps, risks, and opportunities for enhancing engagement efforts
- Implement process improvements and innovative engagement approaches
