Project Manager

About the role

The primary responsibility for job safety rests with the Project Superintendent (PS), but it is the Project Manager's (PM) responsibility to:

• Ensure safety is properly incorporated into job planning and execution.
• Promote accountability among staff members and trade partners as it relates to the project safety policies.
• Enforce these policies by actively participating in all safety-related functions.

Responsibilities

• Manage pre-job planning activities and coordinate the mobilization effort and start-up activities.
• Manage project purchasing and contracting in collaboration with the Estimating department and project team.
• Represent the company at the project site and serve as the primary point of contact for the owner.
• Maintain open communications with all project stakeholders and resolve issues collaboratively and efficiently.
• Monitor project costs and schedule progress, analyzing metrics and initiating course corrections as necessary.
• Support the Project Superintendent in executing the project quality control plan.
• Manage trade partner relationships and address issues proactively.
• Mentor, train, and develop employees in all aspects of their careers.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science in Construction Management, Engineering, or similar field with a minimum of five to ten years commercial design-build project management or construction management experience.
• A valid Driver’s License.
• Solid problem-solving skills.
• Consistent and competent judgement.
• Ability to work independently and with other team members.
• Excellent communication skills (verbal and written).
• High attention to detail while working under deadlines and managing multiple priorities.
• Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office skills, Primavera P6 or Asta, Prolog, and Bluebeam.
• Strategic resource allocation and asset management capabilities.
• Proven management capabilities, including the ability to delegate tasks and motivate direct reports.

• Preferred qualifications include OSHA 10 and/or OSHA 30.
