About the Role

The Project Manager is responsible for all aspects of project management for moderately complex engineering projects, ensuring delivery on time, within budget, and to quality expectations. This role operates with minimal supervision from our Beaumont Office.

Responsibilities

  • Efficiently manage promotional projects to minimize costs while achieving objectives, including accurate estimation of professional services effort hours.
  • Manage commercial contracts, ensuring timely invoice payments, processing Project Change Notices, reviewing the monthly Office Earnings Report (OER), and maintaining an up-to-date project plan in Vision.
  • Maintain project control by tracking budget progress, schedule commitments, and quality standards using available project tools.
  • Participate in major technical, cost, scheduling, and performance decisions for assigned projects.
  • Define project scope, goals, and deliverables in collaboration with stakeholders and align the Hargrove team on schedule and budget.
  • Recognize and communicate scope and design changes promptly, championing the Project Change Notice process and fostering a positive Change Management culture.
  • Build and lead a productive team within Hargrove and with the client, utilizing rewards to recognize outstanding contributions.
  • Coordinate resource requirements with ongoing projects to align expectations among all parties.
  • Plan, organize, and communicate work plans to the team, project leadership, and the client, conducting weekly coordination meetings.
  • Maintain timely and accurate reporting, including weekly and monthly reports using a comprehensive action item list.
  • Review engineering documents, vendor submittals, fabrication drawings, and other construction submittals for compliance with specifications and project objectives.
  • Ensure adherence to standard project work processes across all phases of engineering, procurement, and construction.
  • Interview discipline leads to track progress against man-hour expenditures and maintain overall financial health of projects.
  • Assess project team member performance and collaborate with resource leadership to build a qualified and motivated team.
  • Ensure project documentation is properly reviewed and approved by the client.
  • Provide Construction Phase Support, start-up assistance, and respond to Requests for Information as needed.
  • Manage timeliness of client decision-making and package approvals.
  • Promote positive, long-term client relationships to secure additional services.
  • Complete project closeout as required by the client.
  • Proactively manage client needs at all project stages.

Requirements

  • Bachelor or Master of Science degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, or Civil Engineering from an accredited university (preferred).
  • Professional Engineering (PE) and/or Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is highly preferred.
  • Up to 10 years of relevant experience in engineering and project management.

Skills

  • Knowledge of Hargrove project execution procedures and company business standards.
  • Proficiency in company engineering standards and project controls tools.
  • Demonstrated expertise in complex project management.
  • Ability to lead teams to deliver on commitments.
  • Comprehensive understanding of engineering disciplines, procurement, and construction processes.
  • Ability to manage client relationships in complex situations.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to engage with customers, suppliers, contractors, and government or trade associations.
  • Ability to handle stress with poise and understand client needs and preferences.
  • Strong delegation, communication, and priority-setting skills.
  • Coaching, mentoring, and excellent listening skills.
  • Strong verbal, written, and presentation skills.
  • Excellent leadership and organizational abilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
