About the role

Environmental Comfort designs and delivers Engineered HVAC Solutions, LEED & USGBC Projects, Laboratory Environments, Data Center Cooling Solutions, Commercial HVAC, Institutional HVAC, Natatorium HVAC, and Industrial Process & HVAC. The project manager supports Environmental Comfort’s post-sale interests on projects.

Responsibilities

  • Act as company liaison between customer, company, and manufacturer.
  • Effectively coordinate logistics including:
    • Equipment delivery between manufacturer and customer
    • Commissioning
    • Equipment Startup
    • Warranty
  • Provide equipment documentation to contractors, customers, and end users as applicable.
  • Create business processes designed to facilitate effective and efficient management of warranty activity.
  • Receive and document warranty requests for service and either a) resolve them, b) pass them to the warranty technician for phone support, or c) subcontract requests to a service source for further action.
  • Participate in site walk-throughs, on and off-site job meetings, and on or off-site warranty issues as required.
  • Review, evaluate, negotiate, and approve invoices from subcontractors for startup, commissioning, and/or warranty services up to budgeted amount for the project. Seek approval from Sales Engineers or management for invoices exceeding budget.

This is a high-paced position critical to organizational success in maintaining post-sale profitability. Collaboration with internal teammates, external customers, and vendor partners is paramount.

Requirements

  • 3 years or more experience in project management in the construction trades
  • Construction-related degree is preferred

  • Proficient with Microsoft 365 products

  • Ability to read, understand, organize, and influence multiple project schedules

Work Environment

The work environment is usually moderate in noise level and temperature, primarily in an office setting. The position’s primary office is in Columbus; however, telework or work from home, on the road, or in a satellite location may occur depending on project needs. Occasional travel may be required.

Physical Demands

  • Must be able to walk, bend, stand, and reach constantly during a workday.
  • Must be able to lift 15–20 lbs.
  • Standing for long periods of time (4-5 hours) occasionally.
  • Must be able to travel via plane or car to events.
