Responsibilities

  • Adhere to and promote E2 Optics' Core Values, with safety as the top priority, following all company and client worksite safety policies and procedures.
  • Pre-Project:
    • Participate in the RFP process, reviewing plans, specifications, and bid forms.
    • Review contract/work orders for content, validity, and changes.
    • Cultivate and maintain customer relationships to secure and expand business opportunities.
  • Start-Up:
    • Provide initial client interface to assess scope, schedule, and resources for project success.
    • Collaborate with Operations to ensure availability of materials, equipment, and labor.
    • Develop mobilization and resource plans, evaluating site requirements.
  • Project Implementation:
    • Manage project scheduling to control costs and meet contract requirements.
    • Oversee subcontractor and vendor relationships, streamlining activities for efficiency.
    • Participate in progress update meetings and provide customer reports as required.
    • Prepare and manage change orders using customer-required tools.
    • Monitor installation activities to ensure on-schedule and on-budget delivery.
    • Partner with QA/QC Team to meet client quality plan specifications.
    • Track job cost/profitability and evaluate performance to ensure projects meet SLAs and budgets.
    • Represent the company in client project meetings.
    • Attend assigned meetings, conference calls, and company-required events.
  • Project Close-Out:
    • Coordinate with Project Engineer to ensure efficient and accurate project close-outs.
    • Assist in accounts receivable when required.
    • Manage customer acceptance and signoff of projects.
  • Miscellaneous:
    • Provide coaching and guidance to direct reports or team members, fostering a Lean culture and emerging technologies.
    • Drive continuous improvement and support Lean initiatives aligned with corporate strategic goals.
    • Travel overnight as required by E2 Optics.
    • Perform additional responsibilities as assigned.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required; associate or bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Certified PMP, BICSI RCDD, or BICSI RTPM Certification preferred.
  • OSHA 30 certification preferred.
  • Knowledge of general building codes and BICSI Standards.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in commercial and/or data center construction and project management, including:
    • Installation of standard cabling technologies and rack infrastructure.
    • Managing large-scale build projects with effective communication, prioritization, and time management.
  • Experience managing large-scale client projects with Guaranteed Maximum Price (GMP) contracts.
  • Product experience with Panduit, CommScope, Corning, and others.
  • Successful completion of previous telecommunication projects.
  • Experience managing large projects ($1M+) and service contracts.

  • Knowledge of structured cabling industry, including technology, quality, and safety standards.
  • Ability to lead, develop, and manage field employees in collaboration with senior management.

Work Environment and Physical Demands

The role operates in an indoor business office and construction environment with moderate noise levels. Responsibilities include:

  • Frequent sitting, standing, walking, and use of hands and arms.
  • Occasional physical movements such as stooping or kneeling.
  • Regularly lifting and/or moving up to 40 pounds; frequently lifting up to 25 pounds.
  • Regularly carrying and climbing ladders up to 20 feet.
  • Operating equipment such as scissor lifts, telehandlers, boom lifts, and UTVs (buggies) if required.
  • Working in tight and confined spaces.
