Project Manager

Dashiell is a leading national provider of technical services to the electric utility, power generation, industrial, renewable, and energy industries. These services include planning and systems studies, design and engineering, maintenance and testing, program management, construction, and turnkey EPC projects. About the role

Responsible for the development, planning, execution, and monitoring of projects focused on the turnkey construction of high-voltage electrical substations, transmission lines, and distribution lines.

Responsibilities

• Accountable for the cost, schedule, safety, quality, and completion of construction projects
• Coordinate work with Purchasing to ensure that requested material is expedited and received as needed for the construction of a project
• Manage multiple project teams
• Prepare and maintain cash flows, monthly billing, and change orders for assigned projects
• Prepare and maintain monthly construction progress reports, re-projections, and files required for project construction
• Resolve inter-group conflicts, project conflicts, and delays to meet project construction goals
• Travel out of town for short periods as required by projects and assignments
• Other duties as required

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Civil Engineering, or equivalent (required)
• Professional Registration (preferred)
• 10 years of experience in the design, construction, or operations of substations and/or transmission lines (required)
• 10 years of experience in the supervision/management of budgets and work groups (strongly preferred)

Skills

• Demonstrated understanding of substations, substation control, and transmission systems
• Understanding of financial aspects of project control
• Interpersonal skills, technical knowledge, organizational ability, and leadership talent
• Experience with MS Office including Outlook, Excel, and Word
• Ability to work in a team environment
• Effective communication with co-workers
• Willingness to travel to project sites as necessary

Physical Requirements

• Minimal physical effort; primarily desk-based work with prolonged periods sitting at a computer (minimum 8 hours/day)
• Occasional outdoor exposure to year-round weather conditions and noise
• Ability and willingness to travel overnight for trainings and/or meetings (10% of the time)
• May require working extended hours, including weekends, periodically
• May occasionally lift up to 25 pounds at a time
