Project Manager

About the Role

This position is accountable for a program’s cost, schedule, and technical performance over the program lifecycle. The Project Manager leads the Crystal Group Integrated Product Teams (IPT), which include members from Engineering, Operations, Quality, Supply Chain, Sales, Business Development, and others. The role involves executing commercial and defense programs for both United States-based and international customers.

Responsibilities

• Leads the program’s IPT, coordinating across Engineering, Operations, Quality, Supply Chain, Sales, Business Development, and other teams.
• Manages all product and system lifecycle activities from pursuit and order capture to transition to production, using program plans, integrated master schedules, cadences, and reviews.
• Manages program risks, mitigations, and contingencies, as well as program opportunities and harvest plans.
• Manages dependencies across teams, activities, and functions.
• Supports customer relationships as a key stakeholder, collaborating with the business development lead.
• Collaborates with engineers and technical personnel of varying experience levels.
• Ensures compliance with industry standards, regulatory requirements, and contractual obligations.
• Manages configuration control and change-management processes.
• Coordinates with account management, system architects, and business development during proposal activities.
• Leads internal project status and design reviews.
• Ensures programs meet quality standards, certifications, and internal requirements.
• Coordinates regulatory approvals and certifications.

Qualifications

• Must be a US Person (US Citizen, Permanent Resident, or protected individual).
• 3 to 5 years of project management experience.

Skills

• Experience with project management for Engineering and Operations.
• Proficiency in managing technical cost, schedule, and performance using earned value metrics.
• Strong understanding of systems engineering principles and hardware/software integration.
• Experience with the full product lifecycle, from pursuit to production transition.
• Knowledge of defense contracting processes and export control regulations (ITAR, EAR).
• Proficient in Microsoft Project for scheduling, dependencies, and resource management.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including presenting to executive leadership and external customers.
• Ability to work effectively in cross-functional, matrixed organizations.

Areas of Focus

• Technical Project Management: Collaborates with engineering teams to ensure technical requirements are met, including design, performance, and verification. Manages pursuit phase activities, integration, and verification.
• Operations Project Management: Ensures internal Operations requirements are met, including manufacturability, testability, and documentation. Plans and implements production transition standards.
• Subcontract Project Management: Manages subcontract scope during pursuit, design, and development stages. Acts as the primary point of contact with subcontractors and ensures integration into Crystal Group execution plans.

Working Conditions

• Primarily office-based with occasional exposure to manufacturing and testing environments.
• May require lifting up to 25 lbs and standing for extended periods during product testing.

Schedule

Monday – Friday, 8am-5pm, with 10% travel required.
